Social Media & Reputational Conduct Policy
Protection of College’s name and Reputation
Euro Languages College (“ELC,” “the College”) and its associated name, logo, and branding are the property of Euro Languages College.
Unauthorised Use of the College Name
No individual, group, or organisation may use the ELC name, logo, or branding to create, title, or promote any group, page, account, or communication, including WhatsApp or other group chats, social media groups or pages, or similar without ELC’s prior written consent. Such use may constitute unauthorised use of a trademark or passing off, and ELC reserves the right to request its immediate removal and to pursue further action where necessary.
Defamatory or False Statements
ELC takes seriously any false statement, written or spoken, that damages the reputation of the College, its staff, or its students. In accordance with the Defamation Act 2009, any person found to have published defamatory material concerning ELC, its staff, or its students may be subject to legal proceedings.
Parent / Student Communication Groups
Group chats or social media groups set up by parents or students in connection with an ELC course are not official ELC channels and are not monitored, endorsed, or controlled by the College. ELC accepts no responsibility for content posted within them but reserves the right to act (including contacting the relevant platform, authorities, or legal advisors) where content is unlawful, defamatory, or otherwise brings the College’s name into disrepute.
Reporting Concerns
Anyone who becomes aware of the ELC name being used unlawfully, or of defamatory content being circulated about ELC, is asked to report it immediately to info@elc.ie.
ELC reserves the right to take any action it considers necessary, including legal action, to protect its name, reputation, and the wellbeing of its students and staff.
